 Synopsis of Minutes

Present: Lisa Bos-Atchison, Chairperson; Mark Muir, Vice-Chairperson; Louise Ernst; Gloria Malinoski; Shannon Leson; Alan Thomarat; Gay Patrick; Margaret Lissel; Scott Moffat; Shawn Cook, Deputy Superintendent of Funeral & Cremation Services

Present via Zoom: Chelsea Krentz

Staff Present: Tanya Chernick-Aldridge, Office Administrator

Staff Present via Zoom: Colin Bachynski, Registrar

Staff Regrets: Kim Eberts, Assistant Registrar & Compliance Officer

An in-camera meeting was held at the beginning of the meeting.

There have been no complaints received since the last meeting of Council. All other files are on-going and the committees have been continuing to meet.

The following motions were passed:

  • Approve Advisory 33 – Compliance with Solicitation under the Funeral and Cremation Services Act, for distribution on the FCSCS website, as presented.
  • Approve the March & April 2025 Revenue & Expense Reports as presented.
  • Approval of the revisions to Bylaw 4100 as presented, with the addition of adding in $550 per diem for the Chairperson of Council.

The following committee Chairs were appointed:

  • Audit/Finance Committee – Gay Patrick
  • Communications Committee – Louise Ernst
  • Discipline Committee – Alan Thomarat
  • Education & Professional Development Committee – Gloria Malinoski
  • Human Resources Committee – Scott Moffat
  • Legislative Review Committee – Shannon Leson
  • Governance Review Committee – Alan Thomarat
  • Pandemic Planning Committee – Lauren Weafer

A second in-camera meeting was held at the conclusion of the meeting.

The next meeting of Council will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
