SYNOPSIS OF MINUTES 

Present: Lisa Bos-Atchison, Chairperson; Shannon Leson; Louise Ernst; Mark Muir; Gay Patrick; Alan Thomarat; Margaret Lissel; Scott Moffat; Shawn Cook, Deputy Superintendent of Funeral and Cremation Services

Regrets: Amanda Anderson, Vice-Chairperson; Chelsea Krentz

Present via Zoom: Colin Bachynski, Registrar

Staff Present: Tanya Chernick-Aldridge, Office Administrator; Kim Eberts, Assistant Registrar and Compliance Officer

An in-camera meeting was held at the beginning of the meeting.

There have been two complaints received since the last meeting of Council, one by a consumer and the other as a result of a compliance review and findings.  One complaint has been resolved between the two parties with assistance from the Assistant Registrar & Compliance Officer.  Two complaints have moved to investigation committees.

The following motions were passed:

  • To approve the November 2024, December 2024, and January 2025 revenue and expense reports as presented.
  • To accept the Audit/Finance Committees recommendation to approve MWC Chartered Professional Accountants LLP as the auditors for the 2025 FCSCS Audit.
  • To accept the Audit/Finance Committees recommendation and approve the 2025 FCSCS Budget as presented.
  • Advertise to fill a consumer representative position on the Investigation Committee.
  • Accept the Legislative & Governance Committees recommendation to approve the addition of bylaw 2019.

A second in-camera meeting was held at the conclusion of the meeting.

The next meeting of Council will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025
