SYNOPSIS OF MINUTES

 Present: Gay Patrick; Louise Ernst; Mark Muir; Shannon Leson; Shawn Cook, Interim – Deputy Superintendent of Funeral and Cremation Services

 Present via Zoom: Lisa Bos-Atchison, Chairperson; Amanda Anderson, Vice-Chairperson; Chelsea Krentz; Alan Thomarat; Colin Bachynski, Registrar

 Guests Present via Zoom: Presentation re: MAID – 9:30 a.m.

An in-camera meeting was held prior to the Council meeting.

There have been no complaints received since the last meeting of Council.  There have been six compliance reviews completed since the last meeting of Council.

The following motions were passed:

  • To approve the October 2024 Revenue and Expense reports as presented.
  • To accept the revisions to the following bylaws:
    • 2012 – License Reinstatement
    • 2020 – CCFS Students
    • 2060 – Certification Procedures – Student Crematorium Technician
    • 3100 – Minimum Standards for the Transfer of Human Remains
    • 3110 – Authorizing Embalming by a Non-Embalmer – Deleted
    • 4040 – Auditors
    • 4200 – Register
    • 6110 – Issuance of T-5 – Deleted
  • To accept the revisions and additions to the following Schedule of Forms:
    • Form 20 – Embalmer/Funeral Director Student Registration Application
    • Form 64 – Witness of Transfer – New
  • To accept the additions and revisions to Policy 2022-20 – Mentor and Preceptor/Sponsor Program – Guidelines and Best Practices

A second in-camera meeting was held at the conclusion of the Council Meeting.

The next meeting of Council will be held February 11th & 12th, 2025.
