Synopsis of Minutes
Present: Shannon Leson, Chairperson; Gloria Malinoski, Vice-Chairperson; Nancy Kirk; Robert Volk; Lyle Burkell; Agnes Ewen; Eleanor Shumay; Chrystal Armstrong; Sandy Mahon, Registrar

Council was advised three complaints have successfully been resolved since the last meeting and two are being considered by investigation committees. A total of sixty-two compliance reviews have been conducted to date.
A motion was passed to appoint the following members to consider complaint file 2017-09: Earl Mosewich, Chairperson and Licensee; Dana Chamberlain, Licensee; Art Hunter, Consumer.
A motion was passed to appoint the following members to consider complaint files 2017-08 & 2017-10: Don Sheppard, Chairperson and Licensee; Gerry Mitchell, Licensee; Art Hunter, Consumer.
A motion was passed to approve the September 2017 Revenue and Expense Reports as presented.
Council was advised a meeting of the Audit/Finance Committee will be held on November 29th, 2017.
The proposed 2018 Spring Symposium itinerary was presented to Council and ratified.
A motion was passed to approve the Education and Professional Development Committee’s recommendation to increase the cost for attendance at the 2018 Spring Symposium to $275 + GST.
A motion was passed to appoint Pierre Charpentier as a Mentor.
A motion was passed for the Education & Professional Committee to recommend and review the process and criteria for the examiners to follow and advance names of 4 licensed embalmers (two for Northern Saskatchewan and two for Southern Saskatchewan) to administer/proctor the practical embalming exam upon the completion of the Intern’s embalming internship and/or CCFS Students at the conclusion of their program.
The newly revised FCSCS Canadian College of Funeral Service Student Journal was presented and ratified.
A motion was passed to accept the Personnel Committee’s recommendation for salaries for Council staff in 2018.
The next meeting of Council will be held on December 14th, 2017.
