Synopsis of Minutes
Present: Shannon Leson, Chairperson; Nancy Kirk; Robert Volk; Jeff Weafer; Lyle Burkell; Agnes Ewen; Eleanor Shumay; Chrystal Armstrong; Denny Huyghebaert, Deputy Superintendent of Funeral & Cremation Services; Sandy Mahon, Registrar

Council was advised five complaints have been received since the last meeting of Council. A total of four complaints have been successfully concluded and preliminary evaluations are under way on the remaining files. Fifty-three compliance reviews have been completed to date.
A motion was passed to appoint the following members to consider complaint 2017-04: Don Sheppard, Chairperson & Licensee; Gerry Mitchell, Licensee; Art Hunter, Consumer.
Council was advised a Salesperson Workshop was held August 23, 2017 with six attendees.
Regional Forums will be held in Prince Albert on September 20th, 2017 and Yorkton on September 21st, 2017.
A teleconference was convened on behalf of eHealth on August 16th, 2017 to discuss information requirements on the Statement of Death form. Nine participants who had identified issues surrounding the Information requirements participated in the discussions with eHealth.
A motion was passed to approve the May & June 2017 Revenue & Expense Reports as presented.
A motion was passed for the Education and Professional Development Committee to bring the Council roles of Mentors and Preceptors in line with the Canadian College of Funeral Service education program.
A motion was passed to approve the application of Gene Gary George to reinstate his Embalmer/Funeral Director licenses upon successful completion of the Jurisprudence Licensing Examination for a Funeral Director and/or Embalmer and the practical embalming exam administered by a Mentor.
A motion was passed to grant Hiero Andro Polinag an embalmer license upon successful completion of the Jurisprudence Licensing Examination for a Funeral Director and/or Embalmer and the practical embalming exam administered by a Mentor.

The next meeting of Council will be held on October 12th, 2017.
