A motion was passed to strike the March 9, 2017 motion in relation to the Spring Symposium registration fee. (The registration fee remains at $250 plus GST).
The Registrar advised there have been 2 complaints since the last meeting of Council. Thirty-three compliance reviews have been completed to date.
A motion was passed to accept the Legislative & Governance Committee recommendation to forward Advisory 25, as presented, to all licensees.
A motion was passed to approve the February 2017 Revenue & Expense Reports as presented and a further motion was passed to approve the 2016 Audited Financial Statements as presented.
A further motion was passed to approve the 2016 Constructive Services letter as presented by MWC Chartered Professional Accountants LLP.
A motion was passed to approve the Communication Committee’s recommendation to proceed with setting up a Council Facebook page.
A motion was passed to have the Legislative & Governance Committee revise bylaws to include the Canadian College of Funeral Services student requirements.
Representatives of the Ministry of Social Services and the Saskatchewan Board of Funeral Homes, Inc. met with Council to discuss the recently announced Social Services funeral service rates.
A motion was passed that Council request a review of complaints, investigation procedures and timelines.
The next meeting of Council will be held May 25, 2017 at the Radisson Hotel Saskatoon and a Special Meeting of Council will be held immediately after the Annual General Meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
