Synopsis of Minutes
Present: Shannon Leson, Vice-Chairperson; Lisa Bos; Gloria Malinoski; Nancy Kirk; Robert Volk; Jeff Weafer; Chrystal Armstrong; Agnes Ewen; Eleanor Shumay; Sandy Mahon, Registrar
Regrets: Raymond Bailey, Chairperson; Denny Huyghebaert, Deputy Superintendent of Funeral & Cremation Services
A motion was passed to accept the 2016-2019 Strategic Plan as presented.
Council was advised that a stay of formal charges has been agreed upon by the parties in relation to Council file 2013-09 and will be in effect as long as the agreement of the parties is adhered to.
Council was advised that Council file 2014-12 will be heard by a Discipline Committee on December 14-15, 2016.
There have been no new complaints since the last meeting of Council and two other complaints that were pending have been successfully concluded.
Council was advised that a Preceptor Training Workshop was held in Saskatoon on September 27, 2016 with 24 participants attending. Regional Forums were held in Saskatoon on September 28, 2016 and in Regina on October 12, 2016. Seventeen participants were in attendance at each forum and included four students.
Council was advised that a Legislative & Governance Committee meeting will be held on November 16, 2016.
A motion was passed to approve the August 2016 Revenue & Expense Reports as presented.
A motion was passed to conduct an extrapolation of the Assurance Fund in 2017 and to review the need for a full review in 2018.
A motion was passed to grant signing authority for Council’s chequing account to Chrystal Armstrong.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016.
