Present: Raymond Bailey, Chairperson; Shannon Leson, Vice-Chairperson; Lisa Bos; Jeff Weafer; Agnes Ewen; Eleanor Shumay; Denny Huyghebaert, Superintendent of Funeral & Cremation Services; Sandy Mahon, Registrar

The Registrar advised that no complaints have been received since the last meeting of Council and three matters are currently being determined by investigation committees. Six compliance reviews were conducted to date.
The following licenses were granted by Council:
o New licenses in 2015
o 1 Funeral Homes
o 1 Transfer Service
o 10 Funeral Directors
o 4 Embalmers
o 10 Salespersons
o Reinstated Licenses
o 2 Funeral Directors
o 1 Embalmers
o 1 Salespersons
o Conditional Licenses
o 7 Conditional Funeral Directors
o 2 Extensions given for Conditional Funeral Directors
o 6 Conditional Embalmers
o 3 Extensions given for Conditional Embalmers
The following licenses were renewed/lapsed for 2016:
o 119 Funeral Home licenses renewed
o 2 Funeral Homes let their license lapse
o 23 Crematorium licenses renewed
o 2 Transfer Service licenses renewed
o 232 Embalmer licenses renewed
o 7 Embalmers have let their licenses lapse
o 324 Funeral Director licenses renewed
o 9 Funeral Directors let their licenses lapse
o 32 Salesperson licenses renewed
o 7 Salespeople let their licenses lapse
A motion was passed to approve the recommended changes to Bylaws:
o 2023 – Internship Requirements; and
o 6120 – Assignments to Owners
A motion was passed to approve the November 2015 Revenue and Expense Reports as presented.
Dana Smith-Short, Saskatchewan Polytechnic Funeral Service Program Head provided Council with an update on the proposed changes to the Funeral Service Program.
The next meeting of Council will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016.
