SYNOPSIS OF MINUTES
Present: Raymond Bailey, Chairperson; Gloria Malinoski; Nancy Kirk; Robert Volk; Jeff Weafer; Agnes Ewen; Denny Huyghebaert, Deputy Superintendent of Funeral and Cremation Services; Sandy Mahon, Registrar
Present by teleconference: Shannon Leson, Vice-Chairperson; Lisa Bos; Terry Zip; Eleanor Shumay

Council was informed that three complaints have been received since the last meeting of Council and preliminary evaluations are being conducted. Eighty-seven compliance reviews have been conducted to date and three prepaid contract compliance reviews have also been conducted.
A motion was passed that Lisa Bos, Licensee, and Nancy Kirk, Appointed Member, will be attending the Board Member Training and Annual Meeting of the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards in February 2016.
A motion was passed to defer an item from the Synopsis of Occurrences to a future meeting of Council.
A motion was passed to approve the August 2015 Revenue & Expense Reports as presented.
A motion was passed to approve the recommendation from the Education and Professional Development Committee to suspend the production and distribution of the 2016 Spring Symposium DVD. The Committee will review this decision for the 2017 Spring Symposium.
Council approved the schedule for the 2016 Spring Symposium.
A motion was passed to approve the Education and Professional Development Committees recommendation that there will be no fee for newly licensed individuals to attend the Spring Symposium during their first year of practice. Thereafter if they attend a Spring Symposium during the 2nd year there will be a 50% discount for attending.
The next meeting of Council will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.
