Synopsis of Minutes

 

Present: Phil Fredette, Chairperson; Gloria Malinoski; Nancy Kirk; Terry Zip; Agnes Ewen; Eleanor Shumay; Shannon Leson; Larry Wilson, Superintendent of Funeral and Cremation Services; Sandy Mahon, Registrar

Council was advised that no complaints have been received since the last meeting of Council.  Ninety-five compliance reviews have been conducted to date and four trust by trust compliance reviews have been conducted. 

The Registrar reported on Regional Forums which were conducted on November 12, 2014 in Swift Current and November 13, 2014 in North Battleford. 

The Superintendent of Funeral and Cremation Services shared a report about Council which he presented to the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority. 

A motion was passed to approve the September & October 2014 Revenue & Expense Reports as presented. 

A motion was passed to approve the 2015 Budget as presented. 

Shannon Leson updated Council on a Communication Committee meeting which was held on November 19, 2014. 

A motion was passed to appoint the Resource & Compliance Officer to the Education & Professional Development Committee. 

Council was advised that a Pandemic Planning Committee meeting will be held on November 21, 2014 to discuss the Ebola crisis. 

A motion was passed to accept the 2015 salaries for staff as presented. 

A motion was passed to accept the resignation of David Grambo from Council effective at the conclusion of this meeting. 

A motion was defeated to appoint a licensee to the vacant position on Council until the next Annual General Meeting. 

The next meeting of Council will be held on December 18, 2014.
