Synopsis of Minutes
Present: Phil Fredette, Chairperson; Jeff Ofstie, Vice-Chairperson; Raymond Bailey; Nancy Kirk; David Grambo; Todd Lumbard; Agnes Ewen; Eleanor Shumay; Shannon Leson; David Grambo; Larry Wilson, Superintendent of Funeral and Cremation Services; Sandy Mahon, Registrar

The Registrar reported all 2012 investigations have been concluded and that Council files 2012-09, 2012-10 and 2012-11 have been concluded through Alternate Dispute Resolution. In addition, 4 complaints have been received since the last Council meeting and have been resolved. Three complaints were received from licensees and one complaint from a consumer.
A total of 88 compliance reviews have been conducted to date, as well as 9 trust-by-trust prepaid contract compliance reviews.
Council was advised that a new owner’s license has been issued to Beau “Lac” Funeral Home in Prince Albert.
A motion was passed to offer the opportunity to apply for a conditional license for an individual who was formally licensed in another jurisdiction and whose license lapsed in 2009.
The Superintendent of Funeral and Cremation Services gave an update on the Saskatchewan Cemeteries Review.
A motion was passed to accept the Revenue & Expense Report as presented.
Based on the recommendations of the Education and Professional Development Committee a motion was passed to approved bylaw 2014 (Professional Development) as presented.
The Registrar gave an update on Mentors’ meetings which were held on November 6, 2013 in Saskatoon and November 20, 2013 in Regina.
The Registrar advised that the revised Salespersons Course that was held on October 30, 2013 in Saskatoon had 11 individuals in attendance. Attendees included Student Salespersons and licensed Funeral Directors/Salespersons.
The next meeting of Council will be held on December 19, 2013.
