Synopsis of Minutes
Present:

A motion was passed to have the Legislative Committee review the discipline process and provide recommendations to Council.
The Registrar reported 2 complaints have been received the last meeting of Council. These 2 complaints as well as a previous complaint are being referred to an Investigation Committee.
A total of 102 Compliance Reviews were conducted in 2012, and 23 Compliance Reviews of Prepaid Contracts were also conducted in 2012.
Council was advised a request had been received from the Saskatchewan Registered Nursing Association requesting Council’s endorsement of a resolution passed at the Annual General Meeting of the SRNA to pursue legislative changes to the The Vital Statistics Act 2009 to allow nurse practitioners to complete medical certificates of death. The Chairperson has sent correspondence to the SRNA endorsing this recommendation.
The Superintendent of Funeral and Cremation Services reported the appointments of the current Public Appointees will conclude on February 28th, 2013.
A motion was passed to approve the November 2012 Revenue and Expense report as presented.
A motion was passed to dissolve the Governance Committee.
A motion was passed to strike a Nominating Committee comprised of Phil Fredette and David Grambo to seek nominations for the forthcoming election of Council members at the Annual General Meeting.
A motion was passed to increase the Registrar’s signing authority to $5,000.
Council accepted the resignation of Basil Forsberg, with regret.
The next meeting of Council will be held on February 21, 2013. The March meeting of Council will now be held on March 28th, 2013.
