Synopsis of Minutes
Present:
Todd Lumbard, Chairperson; Phil Fredette, Vice-Chairperson; Jeff Ofstie; Betty Anne Stevenson; David Grambo; Basil Forsberg; Allan Higgs; Larry Wilson, Superintendent of Funeral & Cremation Services; Sandy Mahon, Registrar

Council was advised that one new complaint has been received since the last meeting of Council and a preliminary evaluation is currently underway.
Council was advised that as of December 4, 2012 the following licenses were had been renewed:
- 121 Funeral Homes
- 22 Crematoriums
- 2 Transfer Services
- 226 Embalmers
- 316 Funeral Directors
- 21 Salespeople
Council was advised that 1 funeral home and 1 transfer service licenses were not renewed and 22 licensees confirmed they were not renewing. Six other licensees have not responded to date.
A motion was made to approve the budget for 2013.
Council discussed the status of Governance and the progress on Council’s Strategic Plan to date.
A motion was passed that 8 credits be awarded for attendance at the presentations during the Spring Symposium and 8 credits for watching the Spring Symposium DVD, in addition, 2 credits for participation at the AGM.
Council was advised the Communications Committee has recommended that the radio campaign will not be renewed this year; however, the campaign will be considered again for 2014.
A motion was passed to change the name of the Education Committee to the Education and Professional Development Committee.
A motion was passed to appoint Marianne Turcotte, EFDS 565 to the Education and Professional Development Committee.
The next meeting of Council will be on Thursday, January 17, 2013.
