 Synopsis of Minutes

Present:
Todd Lumbard, Chairperson; Phil Fredette, Vice-Chairperson; Jeff Ofstie;

The Registrar reported there have been no new complaints since the last Council meeting.  A hearing to determine penalties for Council files 2010-14 & 2011-11 will be held on November 21, 2012 at the Executive Royale Hotel in Regina.

Todd Lumbard, Chairperson of Council, and the Registrar made a presentation on Council’s role and responsibilities to the Financial and Consumers Affairs Authority on November 8, 2012.

The Registrar and Jeff Ofstie, Council member, will be attending the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards meeting in Henderson, NV on February 27 – 28, 2013.

A revision to bylaw 5020(4)(c) will be discussed with Legal Counsel.

Council approved the proposed financial report.

Council discussed Governance and has agreed to review their governance model at future meetings of Council with the goal being to be sure Council is being as effective and efficient as possible.

The FCSCS radio campaign is about to conclude.  The Communications Committee will review options for consumer outreach going forward.

Four Regional Forums have been held throughout the province in 2012.  The forums have been a very successful communicating tool with licensees.

The next meeting of Council will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012.
